| What We Do: | Recognizes childbirth as a key life experience that a mother will remember all of her life. Understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of women in labor. Assists the woman and her partner in preparing for and carrying out their plans for birth. Provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, and an objective viewpoint, as well as helping the woman get the information she needs to make informed decisions. Facilitates communication between laboring woman, her partner and clinical care providers. Perceives her role as nurturing and protecting the woman’s memory of her birth experience. |
| We Do NOT: | Deliver babies. Perform any clinical tasks such as vaginal exams, monitoring/interpreting fetal heart rates or recommending certain modes of treatment. Work against the better health wisdom for her client nor does she encourage or participate in creating a confrontational environment, either prenatally or during labor/birth. Speak for her client, but empowers the client to make informed decisions about labor and birth. |

| Birth Doula service includes: | 1 Prenatal visit Continuous support during labor, birth and immediate postpartum 1 Postpartum visit (usually done 1-2 weeks after delivery) We are available by phone for support and are on call 2 weeks before and after your due date. ***It is your responsibility to contact us at the first signs of labor and then to continually update us as to your progress. We make every effort to attend your labor. If we miss the birth due to any fault of our own we keep the deposit and the remainder will not be required. |
A photo captures your body's changes two dimensionally, but a belly cast adds the dramatic third dimension of depth. In the following years, you can gaze upon it, touch the curves and see the place where your baby waited to be born. It is a wonderful way to preserve the reality of how your body changed so amazingly to grow a baby.
If you are not sure about making one, just know that as time goes by and your baby grows, this precious keepsake will mean even more to you.

Elijah Thomen Photography (www.elijahthomen.com) offers maternity, infant and children photography sessions in the privacy of your own home, or location of your choice. There may be additional charges depending on the distance traveled, however, within the Cookeville area is no additional charge.
You will receive all your photos in a large digital format via CD or DVD.
Payment is due upon receiving your photos.

This is a childbirth class taught in the comfort of your home or place of your choice. It is approximately 4-5 hours, depending on your concerns and current knowledge.
